Snowie, Umbrella Cockatoo
Snowie
Umbrella Cockatoo
Current Status: Permanent Resident
Hatch Date: 1998
Sex: Female
Likes:
Carrots and Strawberries….which simply must be stored for later under her wing
Scritches from trusted humans
A calm, quiet atmosphere
Dislikes:
Helicopters - those pesky whirlybirds are too big and loud!
Snowie came to Free Flight in April 2025, alongside her pals Hootie and Charlie (grey), after traveling all the way from Oklahoma to our sanctuary! While she’s still new to our flock, she’s already capturing hearts with her petite size and gentle nature. This sweet girl loves to relax with her most trusted humans and enjoy a gentle crest-feather preen. If you happen to see a red patch under her shoulder, don’t be alarmed! She hasn’t hurt herself. She just has a funny habit…. she likes to save her favorite foods (strawberries and carrots) for later under there - even if they stain her feathers.
