Visitor education and parrot re-socialization program
A major part of a parrot's day in the sanctuary is spent interacting with the people who visit. On an average day, people of all ages spend time walking among the birds, talking with them and offering them bowls of fresh fruits & veggies to snack on. This daily routine helps the birds become re-socialized. They come out into the yard each day and return to the security of their own personal sleeping enclosures indoors at night.
Staff and docents are delighted to answer questions and provide little gems of wisdom about parrot care.
We're kid-friendly and wheelchair accessible!

Booked in advance: $10
Booked same day: $15
First Reservation: 11am Last Reservation: 3pm Closing Time: 4pm
Please Note the Following:
You MUST have a reservation to visit.
Gift card recipients must provide their “coupon code” when prompted in the payment section.
We recommend booking your time-slot at least 2-3 days in advance, especially if you plant to visit on a weekend or during a school holiday.
We recommend checking the weather forecast! We may need to close at the last minute and/or call to cancel or reschedule your visit if it’s too cold/wet/windy for the flock to go outside.
The general public are NOT permitted to touch or hold the parrots.

From Interstate 5
Take Via de la Valle to the West. Go South on Jimmy Durante Blvd past the San Diego County Fairgrounds. After you cross over the concrete bridge and go through the roundabout, we are the first driveway on the right.
