2011 marks the 30th anniversary of Free Flight and its 2nd year as a non-profit. We mark our success in the 155 birds we have placed in homes over the last 6 years - with only 2 returns. We mark our success in the groups of children from schools, YMCAs, Boys and Girls Clubs and similar organizations that have visited our unique outdoor aviary to interact with our flock as well as our individual visitors who brave it on their own. We mark our success in our outreach visits to community groups, events and care facilities. We mark our success in our former employees and volunteers who have gone on to higher education in the avian sciences or avian related jobs. And, we mark our success from our media support from broadcasters and printed media.
To support and grow the above we are stepping up our efforts in grant writing and fund raising, support of our birds through our sponsorship program “Under My Wing”, enhancements to our membership program and expansion of our Outreach programs.
Nothing, however, supports us better than you, the individual donor, writing that check or attending our fund-raiser. Free Flight supports both birds and people and your donation goes to a fledgling non-profit with little or no overhead. Your giving makes an immediate and direct impact.
