Instructional Outreach

In 2012 Free Flight would like to expand our educational offerings. Formal training classes for parrot owners, as we have offered in the past, are always a consideration. Something new we may look at will be "art classes" where we would bring in a guest artist that could teach members or visitors, as an example, how to sketch a bird. We could also approach our photographer friends who may be interested in conducting an event. Parrot ceramics? Parrot Batik?

We will also be exploring an "Open Forum" concept where regularly scheduled meetings at Free Flight, perhaps as a benefit of Membership, would occur where interested parties could discuss parrots, theirs or others, or other bird related topics that would interest a small group.

Also being discussed are avian field techniques, practiced in the nearby San Dieguito River Park, that could be transferable to a once in a lifetime trip to a parrot's native environment.

Of course, there are possibilities that we have not yet imagined and anyone is encouraged to offer a suggestion!
