Grant Writer
Shelley Parker, Grant Writer, returns to Free Flight from the University of California at Davis and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Her graduate research focused on singing behaviors in wild finches breeding in Yosemite National Park, and also the social regulation of vocal signaling in sparrows breeding in North Carolina. She also taught various undergraduate science courses as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at both universities.
Shelley’s passion for education and all things avian are reflected in her volunteer work over the years with organizations like Project Wildlife, San Diego Zoo Institute for Conservation Research, California Raptor Center, and the UC Davis Avian Sciences Club.
Currently Shelley is the Program Manager at Sylvan Learning in Vacaville, CA.
With her leisure time she likes to play with her Golden Conures Katie and Marco, cook and entertain for friends.
